3D Artist and Game Developer, currently based out of Woodbury, Minnesota
I am actively applying for positions in VFX, Narrative Design, Environment and Level Design within the Game Development and VFX Industries. I truly love working on these kinds of projects, and if I hope to build my career further within the industry.
A Desire to Learn
Many of my projects, came from me wanting to learn new techniques and solve interesting new problems. This render was based on my world-building as a Game Master for pen-and-paper RPGs. During this project, I had to learn new techniques of 3D models, including creating a unique custom tool to draw cacti onto the landscape. With this render, I wanted to create a setting that is fantastical while being grounded in real-life environments.
Stories, and Design
With my interests aligning with designing worlds, I started to have stories attached to my works. I wanted the stuff I was doing to have a narrative associated with it. In this project I wanted the narrative to be much more explicit. This project emphasized the use of compositing more than other projects because it required me to create two renders that I would composite in post-production.
Creating a Specialty
With my desire to learn new forms of animation and 3D design and many years of writing worlds for pen-and-paper RPGs, I found myself enjoying designing 3D worlds by marrying those two skills together. This 3D render is entirely made up of digital components and was modeled using an assortment of different modeling techniques such as blender’s geometry nodes, and hand modeling. This project also challenged me with the amount of different objects emitting light, as well as the use of volumetric lighting.
